- Résumé : Nestled in the Gallatin National Forest near Yellowstone Park, Big Sky, Montana, is a quintessential haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Spring brings vibrant wildflowers and opportunities for hiking and fishing, while winter transforms the landscape into a snowy paradise for skiers and snowboarders. Big Sky Resort, a focal point in this scenic wonderland, has not only redefined the American ski experience but has also rivaled the world's top ski destinations. From its early history to attracting A-list celebrities, the area's allure is explored, with retired newscaster Chet Huntley's vision realized by Everett Kircher in 1976. With Lone Mountain as a steadfast North Star, Big Sky continues to evolve, boasting pioneering ski lifts and technology. A captivating journey through this dream destination, Big Sky is a must-read for those dreaming of their next adventure.
- Biographie : Barbara Rowley is an editor and writer who has lived in Big Sky for thirty-four years, since writing a magazine travel assignment about the resort. She began her career at Outside magazine and received her master’s in journalism from Northwestern University. Over the course of her career, she has written for many national magazines and authored two books, while also raising two girls who love to ski the most extreme terrain on Lone Mountain.
