- Résumé : Learn all about the important moments in deaf history through the explanatory texts, short biographies and valuable illustrations of this book, the French bible on the deaf. It's a fascinating read. This book has a lot to teach those interested in the world and culture of the deaf, as well as to new générations of deaf people who may wish to follow in the footsteps of their elders.
- Biographie : Born in 1968 in Rennes, Brittany, Patrice GICQUEL, a deaf man himself, has been a full-time writer since 2003, Following an administrative career. For ten years, he volunteered to run an array of cultural, journalistic, and sports associations in the capital of Brittany. In 2004, he won the Golden Hands award for his first book, A Century of Cycling in the Land of the Deaf, and has published nine other books, including an adventure novel and a police novel. He is the first deaf man to have written a book on deaf sports in France and the first deaf writer born from deaf parents. He is also a member of the Literary Society and the Association of sports writers. He is a husband and father of two.
