- Résumé : Book Description This book is a collection of multimedia-assisted CFL teaching cases, having gathered the teaching experiences, suggestions and reflections from many veteran CFL teachers both in China and abroad. The book is characterized by rich contents, a wide range of fields, and diverse forms. For each teaching case, there is a detailed list of the teaching contents, teaching background (course type, course book, teaching targets, and duration), multimedia means, and teaching objectives. The important and difficult points as well as the highlights of the design are marked in specific sections. After the teaching sections is an after-class note which summarizes and extends the teaching case. The software programs mentioned in the book are listed and briefly introduced at the end of the book for readers’ reference. There are altogether 40 cases in the book, sorted into six modules by the form and category of the multimedia resources: Module 1 Chinese language teaching assisted by educational and efficiency-oriented software or websites; Module 2 Chinese language teaching assisted by professional software or equipment; Module 3 Chinese language teaching assisted by software or websites about daily life; Module 4 Chinese language teaching assisted by social media platforms; Module 5 Chinese language teaching assisted by video clips from TV shows and movies; Module 6 Chinese language teaching assisted by short videos or images. About the Author Liu Zhigang, now a middle school Chinese teacher in International School of Indiana (the United States), graduated from BLCU with a master’s degree in Curriculum and Teaching Methodology in 2009. Liu used to be a teacher in Overseas Education College of Xiamen University, New Oriental Shanghai, and German Embassy School in Beijing. In 2016, Liu went to the United States to teach Chinese in the Confucius Institute at Auburn University at Montgomery. Focusing his research interest on multimedia-assisted Chinese language teaching, over the years Liu has been collecting, sorting out and producing various video materials that can be applied in Chinese classrooms, and has been devoted to the construction of a video library.
