The book covers 360 scores of Turkish classical instrumental music in 63 Makams (modal systems) and 52 different rhythms. It also presents the reader with 111 biographies, related to every composer, and 370 photographs. Biographie : Heykel Kchouk is a Doctor of medecine and a composer. He was born in 1955 in the city of Tunis (Tunisia). He got the Tunisian National Diploma of Arabic Music and also two Certificates issued by Berklee College of Music (Boston, USA).
He published in 2016 and 2020 two CDs entitled «Anneme» and «Turkuaz» covering his compositions in the instrumental world music (ethnic music). In 2018, he published his first music book entitled «al-Musiqa al-askariyah al-Turkiyah» (The Turkish Military Music) where he reviewd the «Mehter» (the Otooman Sultanate Military Band) history and its music
