  • Résumé : "Voodoo Planet" by Andre Norton, originally published in 1959, is a science fiction novel that delves into the mysterious and supernatural elements of the planet Khatka. The story follows Dane Thorson, a crew member of the spaceship Solar Queen, who is looking forward to a brief vacation on Khatka. However, his plans are disrupted as he becomes embroiled in a series of strange and dangerous events. The narrative explores the intersection of science and mysticism, as the characters encounter phenomena that challenge their understanding of reality. Medic Tau, a character who embodies both scientific and mystical knowledge, plays an intermediary role in navigating these challenges. Chief Ranger Asaki, with his deep understanding of the local environment, aids the crew in confronting the threats posed by both real and imagined dangers. Captain Jellico's expertise in alien life-forms becomes vital as the crew faces spectral adversaries. The pilot Nymani, despite his technical prowess, finds himself hindered by the inexplicable power of a voodoo charm. Lumbrilo, a witch doctor on Khatka, represents the planet's enigmatic and political landscape, adding layers of complexity to the crew's mission. The novel is a rich tapestry of adventure, cultural exploration, and the tension between rationality and the supernatural.
